THOMAS & UBER Cup Finals 2012 TOTAL BWF Men's and Women's Team Finals, today is the final day of the group stage. And it is the day that many teams will have to compete their last group match, trying to top their respective groups for a good draw for the knockout stage.
For the Thai national team, both men's and women's are competing today. The men's team in the Thomas Cup final match Group B will be against Canada, which both teams didn't qualify for the knockout stage. The other two countries in the same group are Indonesia and Korea who will face each other today to determine the first and second placing.
The Thai women's team will be competing at 7:00 pm against Chinese Taipei, to compete for the first placing in the group, which will not be drawn with other top teams in the knockout stage.
This morning match starts at 9.00 am. Interesting match would be the Thomas Cup - Group C between Chinese Taipei and Japan and Uber Cup - Group D between China and Indonesia. All are looking forward to top the group so their best players are fielded.
Interestingly, the Uber Cup - Group A will compete in two pairs: Japan, India and Canada, Australia. This is the only group that have only one confirmed finalists which is Japan who won against Canada and Australia. While India and Canada each won one match respectively and Australia lost both matches but still not yet be eliminated.
In this group, if Japan beats India, it will be one of the team with clear victory. And if Australia wins Canada It will make India, Canada and Australia all three teams with one win two defeats. But if India overturned Japan, and Canada win against the Australian team, it would need a counts the points to decide whether India or Canada through to the knockout stage.
In the men's team, Canada in Group B will play the Thais and home fans definitely will be there to cheer for their athletes all the way till the end.
And at the end, the evening session at 19.00, the fans of Thailand will be waiting for Uber Cup - Group B between Thai and Taiwanese girls to fight for first and second placing for the group.
Another match is Thomas Cup - Group D, which Malaysia will have to compete with the defending champion, Denmark. VIKTOR AXELSEN, the world's number one from Denmark.
Even though it is the last day of the group stage, and many have booked their tickets to the knockout stage, but still there will be many exciting battle to top the group. All Thai badminton fans are invited to shout out loud to cheer and encourage Thai national team.
